The United States Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release updated ending stocks estimates for corn, soybeans and wheat, along with U.S. wheat production figures Friday, May 9 at 7:30 AM Central.
Dan Morgan reported in today's Washington Post that, "House and Senate negotiators bargaining over a new farm bill have reduced funding for a key school lunch program for poor children abroad and agreed to sharply expand nutrition programs for low-income families and children in the United States."
Congress finally made a lot of progress on the next farm bill after a six-hour meeting Thursday night that stretched into Friday morning. There are now just nine farm bill policy issues that are unresolved and congressional staffers are expected to work those out over the weekend.
