CORONAVIRUS FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CFAP)

Webinar Today | Noon Central Time

Producers can register for it here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Questions can be sent to USDA through the Q&A box or by emailing CFAP.webinars@usda.gov. The answers, and a recording of the webinar, will be posted at farmers.gov/CFAP. The USDA rule laying out limits and eligibility requirements for the payments was still listed as under White House review as of Tuesday but could be released any day. Scheduling Thursday’s webinar is “good sign” the rule is being released soon, one lobbyist said.

USDA Adds Flexibilities for Crop Insurance to Support America’s Farmers and Ranchers

RMA Offering Remote Assistance and Authorizing Additional Flexibility for Producers

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 27, 2020 – USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) is authorizing additional flexibilities due to coronavirus while continuing to support producers, working through Approved Insurance Providers (AIPs) to deliver services, including processing policies, claims and agreements. These flexibilities include:

  2. extending the date for production reports and providing additional time
  3. deferring interest on premium and other payments.

“Crop insurance will continue to support farmers through the challenges ahead, and our RMA team is here to support them,” RMA Administrator Martin Barbre said. “We are working with the AIPs to continue to deliver crop insurance and to respond to farmer needs.”
